Rideau's Bonnie of Misty Cove at ADC Awards August 2006

About

My love for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers started in 2001. Along with my husband and three children, we started to research breeds which would suit our family. We wanted a playful, energetic, water dog to accompany us on camping and canoeing trips, as well as our daily runs down to the lake. The first Toller we saw was at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. After watching a demonstration of the Canadian breed and learning of its characteristics, we fell in love! You can find out more at Canadian Kennel Club Breed Standard.

The first Toller added to our family came from Rideau Kennels in Perth, Ontario. We were back again in two years for our second Toller, Rideau's Bonnie of Misty Cove ADC SGDC. When asked by the Rileys, if we would be interested in continuing to breed their line, it didn't take long to answer, yes!

Rideau's Bonnie of Misty Cove

It's a pleasure to compete with Bonnie in agility. She has earned two titles from the Agility Association of Canada. During that time she has raised two litters of pups. Rideau's Glen Tay Fern, Bonnie's pup sired by CH Shaggy Toller's Excellent Adventure WCX JH NSDTRC-USA WCI, remained with us. Fern has also started competing in agility, following in her mother's paw steps. I often wonder what life would be like without Tollers!
